Short to B+ in Front Pretensioner Squib RH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The front pretensioner squib RH circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the seat belt pretensioner RH.

This circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.

DTC B0133/62 is recorded when a B+ short is detected in the front pretensioner squib RH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (FRONT PRETENSIONER SQUIB RH CIRCUIT)

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and the front seat outer belt RH (pretensioner squib RH).

(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(f) Measure the voltage between the body ground and PR+ of the P21 No. 2 floor wire connector on the seat belt pretensioner RH (pretensioner squib RH) side.

Standard voltage:

Below 1 V

REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE

CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.

(b) Using a service wire, connect PR+ and PR- of the P21 No. 2 floor wire connector on the seat belt pretensioner RH (pretensioner squib RH) side.

(c) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(d) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(e) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(f) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(g) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(h) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B0133/62 is not output.

CHECK FRONT PRETENSIONER SQUIB RH

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.

(c) Connect the seat belt pretensioner RH (pretensioner squib RH) connector.

(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(f) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(g) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(i) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B0133/62 is not output.
