Open in Curtain Shield Squib RH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The curtain shield squib RH circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the curtain shield airbag RH.

The circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.

DTC B1161/84 is recorded when an open is detected in the curtain shield squib RH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE (CURTAIN SHIELD SQUIB RH CIRCUIT)

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and the curtain shield airbag RH.

(d) Measure the resistance between ICR+ and ICR- of the C38 No. 2 floor wire connector on the curtain shield airbag RH (curtain shield squib RH) side.

Standard resistance:

Below 1Ω

REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 2 FLOOR WIRE

CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.

(b) Using a service wire, connect ICR+ and ICR- of the C38 No. 2 floor wire connector on the curtain shield airbag RH (curtain shield squib RH) side.

(c) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(d) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(e) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(f) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(g) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(h) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B1161/84 is not output.

REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

CHECK CURTAIN SHIELD SQUIB RH

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.

(c) Connect the curtain shield airbag RH (curtain shield squib RH) connector.

(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(f) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(g) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(i) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .

OK:

DTC B1161/84 is not output.
