Short in Curtain Shield Squib LH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The curtain shield squib LH circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the curtain shield airbag LH.

The circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.

DTC B1165/87 is recorded when a short is detected in the curtain shield squib LH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and the curtain shield airbag LH.

(d) Release the airbag activation prevention mechanism built in the connector of the No. 1 floor wire on the center airbag sensor side 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .

(e) Measure the resistance between ICL+ and ICL- of the C37 No. 1 floor wire connector on the curtain shield airbag LH (curtain shield squib LH) side.

Standard resistance:

1 MΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE

CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.

(b) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(d) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(e) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(g) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B1165/87 is not output.

CHECK CURTAIN SHIELD SQUIB LH

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.

(c) Connect the curtain shield airbag LH (curtain shield squib LH) connector.

(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(f) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(g) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(i) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B1165/87 is not output.
