|
DESCRIPTION
The side and curtain shield airbag sensor LH consists of the safing sensor, diagnosis circuit and lateral deceleration sensor, etc.
It receives signals from the lateral deceleration sensor, judges whether or not the SRS must be activated, and detects diagnosis system malfunction.
DTC B1141/33 is recorded when occurrence of a malfunction in the side and curtain shield airbag sensor LH is detected.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(b)
Clear the DTC stored in memory
.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(d) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(e)
Check the DTC
.
OK:
DTC B1141/33 is output.
HINT:
B0119 codes other than code B1141/33 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.

2.

CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTOR
|
(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor and the side airbag sensor LH.
OK:
The connectors are connected.

CHECK NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE
|
|
(a) Using a service wire, connect VUPL and ESL of the S22 No. 1 floor wire connector on the side and curtain shield airbag sensor LH side.
(b) Measure the resistance between VUPL and ESL of the C31 No. 1 floor wire connector on the center airbag sensor side.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ω

CHECK NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE
|
|
(a) Using a service wire, connect SSL+ and SSL- of the S22 No. 1 floor wire connector on the side and curtain shield airbag sensor LH side.
(b) Measure the resistance between SSL+ and SSL- of the C31 No. 1 floor wire connector on the center airbag sensor side.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ω

CHECK NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE (TO GROUND)
|
|
(a) Measure the resistance between the body ground and each of VUPL, SSL+ and SSL- of the C31 No. 1 floor wire connector on the center airbag sensor side.
Standard resistance:
10 kΩ or higher

CHECK NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE (TO B+)
|
|
(a) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Measure the voltage between the body ground and each of VUPL, SSL+, SSL- and ESL of the C31 No. 1 floor wire connector on the center airbag sensor side.
Standard voltage:
Below 1V

CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
|
|
(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
(b) Airbag Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
(c) Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.
(d) Change the side and curtain shield airbag sensor RH position with LH position.
(e) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(g)
Clear the DTC stored in memory
.
(h) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(i) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(j)
Check the DTC
.
OK:
DTC B1141/33 and B1140/32 are not output.
HINT:
Codes other than code B1141/33 or B1140/32 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.
