DESCRIPTION

The seat position sensor circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the seat position.

DTC B1153/25 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the seat position sensor circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(b) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(c) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(d) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(e) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B1153/25 is output.

Codes other than code B1153/25 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK

2.

CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTOR

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor and the seat position sensor.

OK:

The connectors are connected.

3.

CHECK NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE

(a) Using a service wire, connect LSP+ and LSP- of the B10 No. 1 floor wire connector on the seat position sensor assembly side.

(b) Measure the resistance between LSP+ and LSP- of the C31 No. 1 floor wire connector on the center airbag sensor side.

Standard resistance:

Below 1 Ω

REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE

4.

CHECK NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE (TO GROUND)

(a) Release the service wire from the No. 1 floor wire connector on the seat position sensor assembly side.

(b) Measure the resistance between the body ground and each of LSP+ and LSP- of the C31 No. 1 floor wire connector on the center airbag sensor side.

Standard resistance:

10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE

5.

CHECK NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE (TO B+)

(a) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.

(c) Measure the voltage between the body ground and each of LSP+ and LSP- of the C31 No. 1 floor wire connector on the center airbag sensor side.

Standard voltage:

Below 1 V

6.

CHECK SEAT POSITION SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.

(c) Connect the connectors of the seat position sensor assembly and the center airbag sensor.

(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(f) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(g) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(i) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B1153/25 is not output.

REPLACE SEAT POSITION SENSOR ASSEMBLY, THEN GO TO NEXT STEP

7.

CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.

(b) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(d) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(e) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(g) Check the DTC 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B1153/25 is not output.
