REMOVAL

CAUTION:

  • Wear protective gloves when removing the sensor.
  • The exhaust pipe assembly is extremely hot immediately after the engine has stopped.
  • Confirm that the exhaust pipe assembly has cooled down before removing it.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER REAR 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; 2UZ-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: TIMING BELT: REMOVAL+

3. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 1)

(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.

(b) Using SST, remove the sensor.

4. REMOVE AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 1)

(a) Disconnect the sensor connector.

(b) Using SST, remove the sensor.
