ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. CHECK PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL

(a) Pull the lever upward with a force of approximately 196 N (20 kgf, 44 lbf) and count the number of clicks.

OK:

4 to 6 clicks

2. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE

HINT:

Before adjusting the parking brake, make sure that the paring brake shoe clearance has been adjustment 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY: REASSEMBLY+ .

(a) Loosen the lock nut and turn the turn buckle until the lever travel is correct.

(b) Tighten the lock nut.

Torque:

5.4 N·m {55 kgf·cm, 48in·lbf}
