Tire Pressure Warning Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

If the ECU detects trouble, the tire pressure warning light comes on and tire pressure monitor is canceled at the same time. At this time, the ECU records a DTC in memory.

Connect terminals TC and CG of the DLC3 to make the tire pressure warning light blink and output the DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:

It is necessary to register an ID code after replacing the tire pressure monitor valve sub-assembly and/or the tire pressure monitor ECU 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; TIRE AND WHEEL: TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM: REGISTRATION .

HINT:

This procedure must be performed according to the PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE.

PROCEDURE

1.

INSPECT FUSE

(a) Remove the MET fuse from the cowl side junction block RH.

(b) Measure the resistance of the fuse.

Standard resistance:

Below 1 Ω

NG

REPLACE FUSE

OK

2.

CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - COMBINATION METER)

(a) Disconnect the C14 combination meter connector.

(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(c) Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard voltage:

Tester connection

C14-10 - Body ground

10 to 14 V

CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CONBINATION METER - ECU AND BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the T35 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the C15 and C17 meter connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:

Tester Connection

Specified Condition

T35-5 (IND) - C15-13

Below 1 Ω

T25-5 (IND) - Body ground

10 kΩ or higher

C17-1 - Body ground

Below 1 Ω

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

4.

OPERATION OF ECU WITH NEW OR NORMAL FUNCTIONING ECU

(a) Temporarily replace the ECU with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check that the malfunction disappears.
