REMOVAL

1. DISCHARGE REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; AIR CONDITIONING: REFRIGERANT: REPLACEMENT+

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

HINT:

At the time of installation, perform initialization 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; INTRODUCTION: REPAIR INSTRUCTION: INITIALIZATION .

NOTICE:

Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

3. DISCONNECT LIQUID AND SUCTION TUBES

(a) Remove the bolt and slide the plate, and then disconnect both tubes.

Torque:

10 N·m {100 kgf·cm, 7ft·lbf}

NOTICE:

Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.

HINT:

At the time of installation, lubricate 2 new O-rings with compressor oil and install them to the tubes.

4. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

5. REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT SUPPORT PLATE

6. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING REAR TRIM

7. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL RH

8. REMOVE ROOF SIDE INNER UPPER GARNISH 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; INTERIOR: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL+

9. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER AIR DUCT

(a) Remove the 3 roof headlining set clips.

(b) Remove the 5 clips and air duct.

10. REMOVE REAR COOLING UNIT

(a) Disconnect the connectors.

(b) Remove the 3 bolts and rear cooling unit.
