REMOVAL

HINT:

  • Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
  • The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
  • A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart 2006 MY LX470 [05/2005 -        ]; SERVICE SPECIFICATIONS: STANDARD BOLT: SPECIFIED TORQUE FOR STANDARD BOLTS .

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

4. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

5. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

6. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER LH

(a) w/o Belt Tension Sensor:

Using a screwdriver, remove the center pillar garnish lower cover.

HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(b) w/ Belt Tension Sensor (for RH side):

Using a screwdriver, remove the center pillar garnish cover RH.

HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) Using a screwdriver, remove the center pillar garnish lower as shown in the illustration.

HINT:

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

7. REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP

8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

CAUTION:

Never disassemble the retractor of the front seat outer belt.

NOTICE:

When removing the retractor of the front seat outer belt, take care not to pull the seat belt pretensioner wire harness.

(a) w/o Belt Tension Sensor:

(1) Remove the floor anchor with the bolt.

(b) w/ Belt Tension Sensor (for RH side):

(1) Remove the connector.

(2) Remove the floor anchor with the bolt.

(c) Remove the bolt and shoulder anchor.

(d) Disconnect the pretensioner connector in the order of A to B, as shown in the illustration.

(e) Remove the 2 bolts and retractor of the front seat outer belt.
