DESCRIPTION

The night view relay, which controls the night view projector, is controlled by the night view ECU.

PROCEDURE

1.

INSPECT RELAY (Marking: IR)

(a) Remove the IR relay from the engine room relay block.

(b) Measure the resistance of the relay.

Standard resistance :

Tester Connection.

Specified Condition

3 - 5

10 kΩ or higher

Below 1 Ω

(when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)

REPLACE RELAY

OK

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SHORT TO B+) (ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK - NIGHT VIEW PROJECTOR)

(a) Remove the IR relay from the engine room relay block.

(b) Measure the voltage between terminal 3 of the engine room relay block and body ground.

Standard voltage:

Below 1 V

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

OK

3.

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SHORT TO B+) (ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK - NIGHT VIEW ECU)

HINT:

Remove the IR relay from the engine room relay block.

(a) Remove the combination meter assembly.

(b) Disconnect the connector "N6" from the night view ECU.

(c) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(d) Measure the voltage between terminal 2 of the engine room relay block and body ground.

Standard voltage:

Below 1 V

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

REPLACE NIGHT VIEW ECU
