Cellular Phone Antenna Error

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is output when one of the following occurs: 1) the mayday ECU assembly is malfunctioning; 2) the telephone antenna (cellular phone antenna) is malfunctioning; or 3) the wire harness between the mayday ECU assembly and the telephone antenna is open or short.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

INSPECT TELEPHONE ANTENNA

(a) Disconnect the antenna connector from the ECU.

(b) Measure the resistance of the antenna.

Standard resistance:

Tester Connection

Specified Condition

1 (SIGNAL) - Body ground

4 to 11 kΩ
OK

GO TO STEP 3

NG

CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAYDAY ECU ASSEMBLY - TELEPHONE ANTENNA)

(a) Disconnect the M17 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the T34 antenna connector.

(c) Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

Standard resistance:

Tester Connection

Specified Condition

M17-1 (SIGNAL) - T34-1 (SIGNAL)

Below 1 Ω

M17-1 (SIGNAL) or T34-1 (SIGNAL) - Body ground

10 kΩ or higher
NG

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR THEN CLEAR HISTORIC DTC

OK

3.

CHECK OPERATION OF MAYDAY ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily replace the mayday ECU and mayday battery with a new one.

(b) Check for DTC again.

OK:

System operates normally (red LED off).

NG:

Current DTC 3-2 exists

OK

END (PERFORM REGISTRATION)

NG

REPLACE TELEPHONE ANTENNA THEN CLEAR HISTORIC DTC
