DESCRIPTION
The front passenger side squib circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the front passenger airbag.
The circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.
DTC B0105/53 is recorded when a short is detected in the front passenger side squib circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
PROCEDURE
(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.
(c) Disconnect the connectors from the front passenger airbag.
(d) Check that the dash wire connectors (on the front passenger airbag side) are not damaged.
OK:
The lock button is not damaged, or the claw of the lock is not deformed or damaged.

CHECK DASH WIRE (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SQUIB CIRCUIT)
|
|
(a) Disconnect the center airbag sensor connector.
|
|
(b)
Release the airbag activation prevention mechanism built in the connector of the dash wire on the center airbag sensor side
.
(c) Measure the resistance between P+ and P- of the A28 dash wire connector on the front passenger airbag (front passenger side squib).
Standard resistance:
1 MΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE DASH WIRE

CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY
|
|
(a) Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.
|
|
(b) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(d)
Clear the DTC stored in memory
.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(g)
Check the DTC
.
OK:
DTC B0105/53 is not output.
HINT:
Codes other than code B0105/53 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check.

CHECK FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SQUIB
|
|
(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.
|
|
(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.
(c) Connect the front passenger airbag (front passenger side squib) connector.
(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.
(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(f)
Clear the DTC stored in memory
.
(g) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.
(i)
Check the DTC

OK:
DTC B0105/53 is not output.
