Short in Front Pretensioner Squib LH Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The front pretensioner squib LH circuit consists of the center airbag sensor and the seat belt pretensioner LH.

This circuit instructs the SRS to deploy when deployment conditions are met.

DTC B0135/73 is recorded when a short is detected in the front pretensioner squib LH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE (FRONT PRETENSIONER SQUIB LH CIRCUIT)

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Disconnect the connector from the center airbag sensor and the front seat outer belt LH.

(d) Release the airbag activation prevention mechanism built in the connector of the C31 No. 1 floor wire on the center airbag sensor side 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .

(e) Measure the resistance between PL+ and PL- of the P20 No. 1 floor wire connector on the seat belt pretensioner LH (pretensioner squib LH) side.

Standard resistance:

1 MΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE NO. 1 FLOOR WIRE

CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.

(b) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(c) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(d) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(e) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(f) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(g) Check the DTC 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B0135/73 is not output.

CHECK FRONT PRETENSIONER SQUIB LH

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds.

(c) Connect the seat belt pretensioner LH (pretensioner squib LH) connector.

(d) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(e) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(f) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

(g) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(h) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(i) Check the DTC 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

OK:

DTC B0135/73 is not output.
