INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK DRIVER SIDE SQUIB (2ND STEP) CIRCUIT

(a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK.

(b) Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

(c) Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor and the steering heel pad.

(d) Measure the resistance between D2+ and D2- of the black connector on the steering wheel pad (driver side squib (2nd step)) side between the center airbag sensor and the steering wheel pad (driver side squib (2nd step)).

Standard resistance:

Below 1 Ω

NG

GO TO STEP 4

OK

2.

CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the connector to the center airbag sensor.

(b) Using a service wire, connect D2+ and D2- of the black connector on the steering wheel pad (driver side squib (2nd step)) side between the center airbag sensor and the steering wheel pad (driver side squib (2nd step)).

(c) Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds.

(d) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 10 seconds.

(e) Clear the DTC stored in memory 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
