DISASSEMBLY

Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.

The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL
2. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING WITH REAR BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts, 2 washers and brake cylinder mounting with brake cylinder.
(b) Suspend the brake cylinder mounting with brake cylinder. Ensure that the flexible hose is not stretched.

3. REMOVE REAR DISC
(a) Put matchmarks on the disc and axle hub.
(b) Remove the disc.
HINT:
If the disc cannot be removed easily, turn the shoe adjuster until the disc turns freely.

4. REMOVE TENSION SPRING
(a) Using needle-nose pliers, remove the spring and tension spring.
|
|
|
5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE RETURN TENSION SPRING
(a) Using SST, remove the 2 return tension springs.
SST: 09717-20010
|

6. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE STRUT LH
(a) Remove the shoe strut and spring.

7. REMOVE REAR BRAKE SHOE, ADJUSTER AND TENSION SPRING
(a) Slide out the rear brake shoe and remove the adjuster.
(b) Remove the tension spring.
(c) Remove the 2 shoe hold down spring cups, shoe hold down spring and pin.

8. REMOVE FRONT BRAKE SHOE
(a) Slide out the front brake shoe.
(b) Disconnect the No. 2 parking brake cable from the parking brake shoe lever.
(c) Remove the 2 shoe hold down spring cups, shoe hold down spring and pin.

9. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE BELL CRANK LH
(a) Using a screwdriver, remove the C-washer.
(b) Remove the pin and disconnect the No. 2 parking brake cable from the bell crank.
(c) Remove the clip and pin.
(d) Disconnect the parking brake cable and remove the clip.
(e) Remove the 2 tension springs.

(f) Remove the 2 bolts and bell crank.
|
|
(g) Turn the boot over from the bell crank bracket.
|
(h) Using a screwdriver, remove the C-washer and pin.
|
|
(i) Remove the bell crank from the bell crank bracket.
