INSPECTION

1. INSPECT ILLUMINATION LIGHT

(a) Connect the positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and negative (-) lead to terminal 21, and then check that the indicators come on.

If the operation is not as specified, replace the rear heater control assembly.

2. INSPECT INDICATOR

(a) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and negative (-) lead to each of the other terminals in order from 3 to 9, and then check that the indicator illuminates as shown in the chart.

If the operation is not as specified, replace the rear heater control assembly.

(b) Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2, and then check the indicators dim.

If the operation is not as specified, replace the rear heater control assembly.

3. INSPECT HEATER CONTROL SWITCH

(a) Check the continuity between terminals while the switch is pressed, as shown in the chart.

If the result is not as specified, replace the rear heater control assembly.

4. INSPECT VARIABLE RESISTOR

(a) Measure the resistance between terminals 11 and 12.

Standard resistance:

3.0 kΩ

(b) Gradually move the temperature control lever from "COOL" side to "WARM" side, and then check that the resistance between terminals 11 and 12 increases to 3.0 kΩ.

If the operation is not as specified, replace the rear heater control assembly.
