INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL FUEL HOSE
2. INSTALL FUEL INLET HOSE
3.
INSTALL FUEL PUMP AND SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
4. INSTALL FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY
|
(a) Set up the fuel tank on the transmission jack.
|
|
(b) Operate the transmission jack so that the fuel pump and sender gauge connector and 2 clamps can be installed. Then raise the mission jack again to install the fuel tank.
|
(c) Install the 2 fuel tank bands with the 2 bolts.
Torque:
40 N·m {408 kgf·cm, 30 ft·lbf}
|

(d) Connect the fuel main tube, return tube and fuel hose.
|
(1) Check that there is no damage or contamination in the connected part of the pipe.
|
|
(2) Align the axis of the connector with the axis of the pipe. Push the pipe into the connector until the connector makes a "click" sound. If the connection is tight, apply a little amount of fresh engine oil on the tip of the pipe.
|
(3) After having finished the connection, try to pull apart the pipe and the connector and confirm that they are securely connected.
|
|
|
(4) w/ Fuel hose connector cover type:
Attach the lock claws to the connector by pushing down on the cover, as shown in the illustration.
|
|
|
(e) Connect the fuel inlet hose to the fuel inlet pipe.
|
|
(f) Tighten the bolt of the clamp.
Torque:
7.5 N·m {76 kgf·cm, 66 in·lbf}
5. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE
|
(a) Install the bracket to the body with the bolt.
Torque:
15 N·m {153 kgf·cm, 11 ft·lbf}

(b) Install the bracket to the fuel tank band with the bolt.
Torque:
15 N·m {153 kgf·cm, 11 ft·lbf}
|
|
6. CONNECT VENT LINE TUBE
|
(a) Connect the vent line tube to the fuel tank.
|
|
7.
CHECK FOR FUEL LEAKS
8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a)
Perform initialization

NOTICE:
Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
