REMOVAL
1.
DISCHARGE FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE
2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
3. DISCONNECT VENT LINE TUBE

(a) Disconnect the vent line tube from the fuel tank.
|
|
4. DISCONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE
|
(a) Remove the bolt and bracket from the fuel tank band.
|
|
|
(b) Remove the bolt and bracket from the body.
|
|
5. REMOVE FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the fuel main tube, return tube and fuel tube.
|
(1) w/ Fuel hose connector cover type:
Disengage the lock claw by lifting up the cover, as shown in the illustration.
|
|
|
(2) Check for dirt or mud on the pipe and around the connector before disconnection. Clean if necessary.
|
|
(3) Disconnect the connector and pipe by hand.
(4) If the connector and the pipe stuck, pinch the connector, and push and pull the pipe to disconnect it.
NOTICE:
Do not use any tools.
(5) Check for dirt or mud on the seal surface of the disconnected pipe. Clean if necessary.
|
(6) To protect the disconnected pipe and connector from damage and contamination, cover it with a plastic bag.
|
|
|
(b) Loosen the bolt of the clamp and disconnect the fuel inlet hose from the fuel inlet pipe.
|
|
|
(c) Set up a transmission jack under the fuel tank.
|
|
|
(d) Remove the 2 bolts and disconnect the 2 fuel tank bands from the fuel tank.
|
|
(e) Slightly lower the mission jack so that the fuel pump and sender gauge connector and 2 clamps can be removed.
NOTICE:
Do not lower the mission jack excessively as this may damage the connector.
(f) Operate the transmission jack and remove the fuel tank.

REMOVE FUEL PUMP AND SENDER GAUGE ASSEMBLY
7. REMOVE FUEL INLET HOSE
8. REMOVE FUEL HOSE
