INSTALLATION

NOTICE:

  • Never use a seat belt pretensioner from another vehicle. When replacing parts, replace them with new parts.
  • Make sure that the front seat outer belt is installed with the specified torque.
  • If the front seat outer belt has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace the front seat outer belt with a new one.
  • When installing the front seat outer belt, take care that the wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.

1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY LH

(a) Install the front seat outer belt retractor with the upper bolt.

Torque:

5 N·m {51 kgf·cm, 44in·lbf}for upper bolt

Torque:

42 N·m {428 kgf·cm, 31ft·lbf}for lower bolt

(b) w/ Belt Tension Sensor (for RH side):

(1) Attach the connector.

(c) Connect the pretensioner connector in the order of A to B, as shown in the illustration.

(d) Install the shoulder anchor with the bolt.

Torque:

42 N·m {428 kgf·cm, 31ft·lbf}

2. INSTALL SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP

3. INSTALL CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LOWER LH

(a) Attach the center pillar garnish lower as shown in the illustration.

(b) w/o Belt Tension Sensor:

Attach the center pillar garnish lower cover.

(c) w/ Belt Tension Sensor (for RH side):

Attach the center pillar garnish lower cover RH.

4. INSTALL REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

5. INSTALL REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

6. INSTALL FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

7. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

9. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform initialization 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; INTRODUCTION: REPAIR INSTRUCTION: INITIALIZATION .

NOTICE:

Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
