REMOVAL

NOTICE:

  • Before starting the work, make sure that the ignition switch is OFF and depress the brake pedal more than 40 times.
  • As high pressure is applied to the No. 1 brake actuator tube, never deform it.
  • Until the work is completed, do not turn the ignition switch ON.

HINT:

When a pressure in power supply system is released, reaction force becomes light and stroke becomes longer.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

NOTICE:

Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.

3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

4. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER PANEL 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; INSTRUMENT PANEL: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL+

6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER LH 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; INSTRUMENT PANEL: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL+

7. REMOVE NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; INSTRUMENT PANEL: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL+

8. REMOVE SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and skid control ECU.

9. REMOVE CHARCOAL CANISTER SUB-ASSEMBLY

10. REMOVE HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 5 connectors.

(b) Using SST, disconnect the 4 brake lines.

SST: 09023-00101

(c) Remove the clip and clevis pin.

(d) Remove the 4 nuts.

(e) Remove the booster and gasket.
