DTC Detection Condition
Trouble Area
ECU terminal IG1 voltage is 9.5 to 17.2 V, ABS is in non-operation, and an open in stop light switch circuit continues for 0.3 sec. or more.
1.
CHECK STOP LIGHT SWITCH OPERATION
(a) Check that the stop light turns on when the brake pedal is depressed and turns off when the brake pedal is released.
Condition
Stop Light Condition
Brake pedal depressed
Turns on
Brake pedal released
Turns off
GO TO STEP 3
2.
CHECK STOP LIGHT CIRCUIT
CHECK STOP LIGHT BULB AND REPAIR OR REPLACE STOP LIGHT CIRCUIT
3.
CHECK SKID CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the skid control ECU with the connectors still connected.
(b) Measure the voltage between terminal STP of the skid control ECU and body ground when the brake pedal is depressed.
OK:
Standard voltage
10 to 14 V
