DESCRIPTION

This circuit checks that each signal required to operate the night view system is normally input to the night view ECU.

NOTICE:

Do not apply grease to sliding parts of the display cover.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK HEADLIGHT FUNCTION

(a) Turn the headlight ON.

(b) Verify that all headlight functions are normal.

OK:

Headlight function is correct.

NG

GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM

OK

2.

CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch ON and the intelligent tester main switch ON.

(c) Check DTC.

OK:

There is no B1244 DTC.

HINT:

B1244: Light sensor circuit malfunction

NG

GO TO LIGHTING SYSTEM

OK

3.

CHECK NIGHT VIEW ECU (HERLY VOLTAGE)

(a) Remove the combination meter assembly.

(b) Turn the light control switch to HEAD and the headlight dimmer switch to LO or HI.

(c) Measure the voltage between terminal HERLY of the night view ECU connector "N6" and body ground.

(Terminals of ECU: 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; PARK ASSIST / MONITORING: NIGHT VIEW SYSTEM: TERMINALS OF ECU )

Standard voltage:

Below 1 V

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NIGHT VIEW ECU - BODY ECU)

OK

4.

CHECK NIGHT VIEW ECU (CON VOLTAGE)

(a) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(b) Using an oscilloscope, check the output waveform between terminal CON of the night view ECU connector "N6" and body ground.

(Terminals of ECU: 2007 MY LX470 [08/2006 -        ]; PARK ASSIST / MONITORING: NIGHT VIEW SYSTEM: TERMINALS OF ECU )

OK:

The output waveform is as shown in the illustration.
