Night View Display Cover Opens with Night View Switch but Stops Partway

DESCRIPTION

The display cover motor of the night view display cover is controlled by the night view ECU.

NOTICE:

Do not apply grease to the sliding parts of the display cover.

1.	CHECK FOR FOREIGN OBJECT

(a) Check that there are no foreign objects or defects in the display cover portion of the night view display.

HINT:

Remove the night view display assembly and check for foreign objects.

OK:

No foreign objects or defects.

REMOVE FOREIGN OBJECTS OR REPLACE DISPLAY COVER ASSEMBLY

2.	CHECK NIGHT VIEW DISPLAY (MD1 VOLTAGE)

(a) Remove the combination meter assembly.

(b) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(d) Measure the voltage between terminal MD1 (power source of display cover motor) of the night view display connector "J" and body ground.

(Terminals of ECU: )

Standard voltage:

Above 10 V

(Until the display cover stops)

REPLACE DISPLAY COVER ASSEMBLY

3.	INSPECT DISPLAY COVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector "J".

(b) Measure the resistance between terminal MD1 (power source of display cover motor) of the night view display connector "J" and body ground.

(Terminals of ECU: )

Standard resistance:

10 kΩ or higher

REPLACE DISPLAY COVER ASSEMBLY

4.	CHECK NIGHT VIEW ECU (MD1 VOLTAGE)

(a) Turn the ignition switch ON.

(b) Switch to inspection mode .

(c) Measure the voltage between terminal MD1 (power source of display cover motor) of the night view ECU connector "C" and body ground.

(Terminals of ECU: )

Standard voltage:

Above 10 V

REPLACE NIGHT VIEW ECU

REPLACE NIGHT VIEW DISPLAY
