Headlight Swivel Motor RH Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The swivel motor receives a signal from the AFS ECU to operate and sends a signal indicating the direction of the headlight and condition of the headlight swivel motor to the AFS ECU.

  • Open or short in the headlight swivel motor LH circuit.

  • Malfunction in the headlight swivel motor RH.
  • Open or short in the headlight swivel motor RH circuit.
  • Headlight swivel motor RH
  • Harness or connector
  • AFS ECU

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:

Perform a visual check of the headlight (swivel motor) before replacing it.

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Clear the DTCs LIGHTING (EXT): LIGHTING SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 LX570) .

(b) Check for DTCs LIGHTING (EXT): LIGHTING SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 LX570) .

OK:

DTC B2412 or B2413 output does not occur.

OK

2.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SWIVEL MOTOR)

(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

(a) Temporarily replace the headlight with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check for DTCs LIGHTING (EXT): LIGHTING SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 LX570) .

OK:

DTC B2412 or B2413 output does not occur.

OK

4.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)


(a) Disconnect the E91 ECU connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Disconnect the E91 ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the A40 and A46 light connectors.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
