REMOVAL
HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the LH side and RH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE:
Wash brake fluid off immediately if it is spilled on any painted surface.
3. REMOVE FRONT DISC BRAKE PAD
|
(a) Remove the pin hold clip. NOTICE:
The pin hold clip can be reused if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off. |
(b) Remove the 2 hole pins.

(c) Remove the front disc brake anti-rattle spring. NOTICE:
The anti-rattle spring can be reused if it has sufficient rebound; no deformation, cracks or wear; and has had all rust, dirt and foreign particles cleaned off. |

(d) Remove the 2 pads from the disc brake caliper. |
(e) Remove the No. 1 anti-squeal shims from each pad.
4. DISCONNECT FRONT FLEXIBLE HOSE
|
(a) Remove the union bolt and gasket, and then disconnect the flexible hose. |
5. REMOVE DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
|
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and disc brake caliper from the knuckle. |
6. REMOVE FRONT DISC
|
(a) Put matchmarks on the front disc and the axle hub if planning to reuse the disc. |
(b) Remove the front disc.
