LEXUS Link Communication Error

DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when one of the following occurs: 1) the telephone ECU assembly is malfunctioning; 2) the bus buffer ECU is malfunctioning; 3) the main body ECU is malfunctioning; or 4) the CAN line/wire harness is open or shorted.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

CHECK FOR DTC (BLINKING PATTERN)

(a) Turn the engine switch from on (IG) to off.

(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.

(c) Check for DTCs and wait for 20 seconds CELLULAR COMMUNICATION: LEXUS LINK SYSTEM: DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 LX570) .

OK:

DTC 5-1 is not output.

2.

CHECK FOR DTC

(a) Check for DTCs using the Techstream NETWORKING: CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM: DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM (2008 LX570) .

HINT:

The bus buffer ECU is connected to the CAN. Check that there are no CAN communication system DTCs output.

CHECK HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH

(a) When the headlight dimmer switch is set to the low beam position, check that the hazard switch illuminates.

OK:

Hazard switch illuminates.

HINT:

The telephone ECU assembly uses the dimmer switch signal from the main body ECU to judge if communication has stopped.
