DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when there is a LIN communication problem between the main body ECU and certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or when there is a problem in the engine immobiliser system.

When either of the following conditions is met:

  • Communication or the communication line among the main body ECU, certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), steering lock ECU and ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) is abnormal.
  • The immobiliser system malfunctions.
  • Main body ECU
  • Engine switch
  • Certification ECU (Smart key ECU assembly)
  • Key
  • Engine immobiliser system
  • Harness or connector

CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS

(a) Clear the DTCs THEFT DETERRENT / KEYLESS ENTRY: SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (for Start Function): DTC CHECK / CLEAR (2008 LX570) .

(b) Check whether DTC B2289 is output.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY))



(a) Disconnect the 2D main body ECU connector.

(b) Disconnect the E29 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (COWL SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK LH)

(a) Temporarily replace the main body ECU with a new or normally functioning one.

(b) Check whether DTC B2289 is output.

OK:

No DTC is output.
