5. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install a new gasket and the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold RH with 3 new nuts.

Torque: 54 N·m (554 kgf·cm, 40 ft·lbf)

(b) Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector and connect the wire harness clamp bracket to the transmission with the bolt.

Torque: 29 N·m (296 kgf·cm, 21 ft·lbf)

(c) Connect the air fuel ratio sensor connector and connect the wire harness clamp to the bracket.

6. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install a new gasket and the front No. 2 exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold LH with 3 new nuts.

Torque: 54 N·m (554 kgf·cm, 40 ft·lbf)

(b) Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector and connect the wire harness clamp bracket to the transmission with the bolt.

Torque: 29 N·m (296 kgf·cm, 21 ft·lbf)

(c) Connect the air fuel ratio sensor connector and connect the wire harness clamp to the bracket.

7. INSTALL CENTER EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Check the free length. (1) Using a vernier caliper, measure the free length of the compression spring. Minimum free length: 43 mm (1.69 in.) If the free length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.

(b) Install 2 new gaskets to the front exhaust pipe and front No. 2 exhaust pipe.

(c) Install the center exhaust pipe to the 3 exhaust pipe supports, and then install the 4 bolts and 2 compression springs.

Torque: 43 N·m (438 kgf·cm, 32 ft·lbf)

Torque: 48 N·m (489 kgf·cm, 35 ft·lbf)

8. INSTALL EXHAUST PIPE DAMPER

(a) Install the exhaust pipe damper to the tailpipe with the 2 bolts. Torque: 19 N·m (194 kgf·cm, 14 ft·lbf)

9. INSTALL TAILPIPE ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the tailpipe to the 2 exhaust pipe supports.

(b) Install a new gasket to the center exhaust pipe.

(c) Connect the tailpipe to the center exhaust pipe.

(d) Attach a new clamp to the tailpipe and center exhaust pipe. Then install the bolt to the clamp. Torque: 32 N·m (326 kgf·cm, 24 ft·lbf) HINT: Install the clamp within the angle range shown in the illustration.

10. INSPECT FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
