Front Fog Light does not Illuminate

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU receives a front fog light switch information signal from the light control switch (front fog switch), and illuminates the front fog lights.

READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH)

(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT FOG LIGHT RELAY)

(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

INSPECT HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH


(a) Remove the headlight dimmer switch LIGHTING (EXT): HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH: INSPECTION (2008 LX570) .

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT DIMMER SWITCH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)


(a) Disconnect the E14 switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the E2 ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

INSPECT FOG LIGHT RELAY (FR FOG)


(a) Remove the fog light relay from the engine room relay block, junction block.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FOG LIGHT RELAY - BATTERY)


(a) Remove the fog light relay from the engine room relay block.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

(a) Remove the fog light relay from the engine room relay block.

(b) Disconnect the B1 and B2 light connectors.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

CHECK FRONT FOG LIGHT


(a) Disconnect the E1 ECU connector.

(b) Using a service wire, connect terminal E1-4 (FFGO) on the wire harness side and the body ground.

(c) Check that the front fog light illuminates.

OK:

Front fog light illuminates.
