REMOVAL

1. DRAIN DIFFERENTIAL OIL AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: DIFFERENTIAL OIL: REPLACEMENT (2008 LX570)+

2. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT

(a) Remove the axle shaft AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: REAR AXLE SHAFT: REMOVAL (2008 LX570) .

3. DISCONNECT REAR PROPELLER SHAFT ASSEMBLY

(a) Place matchmarks on the rear propeller shaft and companion flange.

(b) Remove the 4 nuts, 4 washers and 4 bolts, and disconnect the propeller shaft from the differential side.

(c) Support the propeller shaft securely.

4. REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 10 nuts, 10 washers and differential carrier.

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the contact surfaces of the differential carrier and rear axle housing.

(b) Remove the gasket.
