PRECAUTION
1. PRECAUTIONS FOR SIDE MONITOR SYSTEM
(a) Handling precautions:
(1) The side monitor system may not function properly if the camera is dropped or subjected to strong shocks, such as striking it, etc.
(2) Scrubbing the lens cover of the camera may scratch the lens cover and affect the image.
(3) If waxes or similar compounds adhere to the camera, it is necessary to clean the camera off immediately and wash it with water.
(4) The side monitor system may not function properly if the camera is subjected to sudden temperature changes, such as applying hot water on it when it is cold.
(5) If there is condensation, snow, mud, etc. on the camera, wash it with water and wipe it with a soft cloth. If the camera is excessively dirty, wash it with a mild detergent.
(b) The system may not operate properly under the following conditions:
(1) When driving on frozen, slippery, or snowy roads.
(2) When using tire chains or the spare tire.
(3) When driving on an uneven road that has slopes, bumps, or gravel, etc.
(c) Even if the camera is functioning properly, the image may not be clear under the following conditions:
(1) When the camera is cold (the image is darker than normal).
(2) When the camera is in a dark area (such as at night).
(3) When the camera is exposed to very high or very low temperatures.
(4) When the vehicle or road is slanted.
(5) As a result of the brightness of the ambient lighting.
HINT:
When a strong light (such as when sunlight is reflected off a vehicle body) hits the camera, vertical streaks, a phenomenon peculiar to the camera, may appear in the image.
