DESCRIPTION

The power steering ECU assembly outputs this DTC when it determines that assist map is not written in the ECU.

HINT:
The assist map is data written in the power steering ECU assembly to control the degree of assistance. The assist map is selected based on the vehicle's specified communication data (designation and grade package information).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.PERFORM ASSIST MAP WRITING

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on.

  1. Turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Set the intelligent tester to Test Mode (select "TEST MODE").

    HINT:
    Refer to the intelligent tester operator's manual for further details.

  1. Wait for 30 seconds or more.

    HINT:
    Assist map is automatically written when approximately 30 seconds have elapsed after setting the intelligent tester to Test Mode. DTC C1581 will be cleared after the assist map is written.

  1. Check for DTCs (Click here).

    OK:
    DTC C1581 is not output.

  1. Check if a qualified HV control ECU is installed.

  1. Check if a qualified network gateway ECU is installed.

    OK:
    A qualified network gateway ECU is installed.

    NOTICE:
    If replacing the power steering ECU assembly, initialize the rotation angle sensor value and calibrate the torque sensor zero point (Click here).
