1. INSTALL BACK DOOR GLASS

  1. Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body.

    1. Using a knife, cut away any rough adhesive on the contact surface of the vehicle body to ensure the appropriate surface shape.

      HINT:
      Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible.

    2. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with a piece of shop rag saturated with cleaner.

      HINT:
      Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.

  1. Using a brush, coat the exposed part of the vehicle body with Primer M.

    NOTICE:
    1. Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.
    2. Do not coat the adhesive with Primer M.
    3. Do not keep any of the opened Primer M for later use.



  1. Using a brush or sponge, coat the edge of the glass and the contact surface with Primer G.

    HINT:
    If an area other than that specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer with a clean shop rag before it dries.



  1. Apply adhesive (Adhesive: Part No. 08850-00801 or equivalent).

    1. Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle, as shown in the illustration.

      HINT:
      After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time described in the table below.

    2. Load the sealer gun with the cartridge.

      Tackfree time:
      Temperature

      35°C (95°F)
      15 minutes
      20°C (68°F)
      1 hour 40 minutes
      5°C (41°F)
      8 hours



    3. Coat the glass with adhesive, as shown in the illustration.

  1. Install the glass to the vehicle body.

    1. Hold the back window glass in place securely with tape or equivalent to the vehicle body until the adhesive has hardened.

      NOTICE:
      1. Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.
      2. Check that the clips are attached to the vehicle body correctly.
      3. Check the clearance between the vehicle body and glass.

    2. Lightly press the front surface of the glass to ensure a close fit.

    3. Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive.

      NOTICE:
      Take care not to drive the vehicle for the time described in the table below.

      Minimum time:

2. INSTALL BACK WINDOW MOULDING OUTSIDE
  1. Coat the installation part of the mouldings with Primer G.

    NOTICE:
    1. Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more.
    2. Do not apply too much primer.



  1. Install a new mouldings, applying double-sided tape all the way around the glass except where the mouldings is installed, as shown in the illustration.

  1. Connect the connector.



3. INSTALL BACK WINDOW MOULDING LOWER


4. CHECK FOR LEAKS AND REPAIR
  1. Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened.

  1. Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.



5. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH

  1. Install the rear combination light assembly with the 3 nuts and the 2 pins.

  1. Connect the connector.



6. INSTALL REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH


7. INSTALL REAR WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Install the rear wiper motor with the 3 bolts.

    Torque:
    5.5 N*m{ 56 kgf*cm , 49 in.*lbf }

  1. Connect the connector.



8. INSTALL REAR SPOILER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Install the rear spoiler sub-assembly with the 3 clips.

  1. Install the 5 bolts and 2 grommets.

    Torque:
    9.8 N*m{ 100 kgf*cm , 87 in.*lbf }

  1. Connect the center stop light connector.

14. INSTALL BACK WINDOW PANEL TRIM UPPER (w/ Power Back Door)


15. INSTALL BACK DOOR TRIM BOARD (w/ Power Back Door)


16. INSTALL REAR WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY

  1. Operate the rear wiper and stop the rear wiper motor at the automatic stop position.

  1. Clean the wiper arm serrations.

  1. Clean the wiper pivot serrations with a wire brush (when reinstalling).

  1. Install the rear wiper arm and blade assembly with the nut at the position as shown in the illustration.

    Torque:
    5.5 N*m{ 56 kgf*cm , 49 in.*lbf }



17. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


18. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

NOTICE:
Some systems need initialization when disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal (Click here).
