1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL


2. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear disc brake caliper assembly.

    HINT:
    Do not disconnect the flexible hose from the rear disc brake caliper assembly.



3. REMOVE REAR DISC

  1. Release the parking brake.

  1. Put matchmarks on the rear disc and the axle hub.

  1. Remove the rear disc.

    HINT:
    If the disc cannot be removed easily, turn the shoe adjuster until the wheel turns smoothy.



4. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE STRUT

  1. Using needle-nose pliers, remove the 2 parking brake shoe return tension No.1 springs.

  1. Remove the parking brake shoe strut and parking brake shoe strut compression spring.



5. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE NO.1 SHOE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the parking brake shoe hold down spring No.1 cup, parking brake shoe hold down spring and parking brake shoe hold down spring No.2 cup.

  1. Disconnect the parking brake shoe return tension No.2 spring and remove the parking brake No.1 shoe assembly.



6. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING SCREW SET

  1. Remove the parking brake shoe adjusting screw set.

  1. Remove the parking brake shoe return tension No.2 spring.



7. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE NO.2 SHOE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the parking brake shoe hold down spring No.1 cup, parking brake shoe hold down spring and parking brake shoe hold down spring No.2 cup.

  1. Remove the parking brake shoe hold down spring No.2 pin.

  1. Remove the parking brake No.2 shoe assembly.

  1. Using needle-nose pliers, disconnect the parking brake No.3 cable assembly from the parking brake cable shoe lever.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage parking brake No.3 cable assembly.



8. SEPARATE PARKING BRAKE NO.3 CABLE ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the parking brake No.3 cable assembly from the backing plate.



9. SEPARATE REAR SPEED SENSOR

  1. Remove the bolt and separate the speed sensor from the axle carrier.

    NOTICE:
    1. Be careful not to damage the speed sensor.
    2. Prevent foreign matter from adhering to the speed sensor.



10. REMOVE REAR AXLE SHAFT NUT

  1. Using SST and a hammer, release the staked part of the axle shaft nut.

    NOTICE:
    Loosen the staked part of the nut completely, otherwise the screw of the drive shaft may be damaged.

  1. While applying the brakes, remove the axle shaft nut.



11. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.



12. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE HOLD DOWN SPRING NO.1 PIN

  1. Remove the parking brake shoe hold down spring No.1 pin from the backing plate.



13. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE SHOE LEVER

  1. Using a screwdriver, remove the C-washer.

  1. Remove the shim and parking brake shoe lever from the parking brake No.2 shoe assembly.
