DESCRIPTION

The driver's door double lock position switch is built into the driver's door lock assembly. The switch turns on when the driver's door double lock is set and turns off when the double lock is released.
The door opening relay is connected to the driver's door lock assembly via terminal DLPD and driver's door double lock set/released state signals are input to the relay.
The door opening relay applies voltage to terminal DLSR of the double lock position switch via terminal DLPD. When the switch is on (there is continuity between the switch terminals), a set state signal is input to the relay. When the switch is off (there is no continuity between the switch terminals), a release state signal is input.
The door opening relay sends driver's door double lock set/released state information to the body ECU using multiplex communication.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.INSPECT FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY (DOUBLE LOCK POSITION SWITCH)

LHD Models:
Remove the front door lock assembly LH.

Apply battery voltage and set the door lock motor to the lock position.
OK:
Measurement Condition
Specified Condition
Battery positive (+) →Terminal 4
Battery negative (-) →Terminal 3
Lock

Apply battery voltage to the door lock and check operation of the double lock motor.

OK:

Measurement Condition	Specified Condition
Battery positive (+) →Terminal 2 Battery negative (-) →Terminal 1	Double Locking System is set
Battery positive (+) →Terminal 1 Battery negative (-) →Terminal 2	Double Locking System is unset

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

RHD Models:
Remove the front door lock assembly RH.

Apply battery voltage and set the door lock motor to the lock position.

Apply battery voltage to the door lock and check operation of the double lock motor.

OK:

REPLACE FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY

OK

2.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (FRONT DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY LH,RH - DOOR OPENING RELAY ASSEMBLY)

LHD Models:
Disconnect the front door lock assembly LH connector.
1. Disconnect the door opening relay assembly connector.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
  Standard resistance:

  D10-6 (DLSR) - D2-6 (DLPD)
  Always
  Below 1 Ω
  D10-5 (E) - Body ground
  Always
  Below 1 Ω

RHD Models:
Disconnect the front door lock assembly RH connector.
1. Disconnect the door opening relay assembly connector.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
  Standard resistance:

  D10-9 (DLSR) - D2-5 (DLPD)
  Always
  Below 1 Ω
  D10-10 (E) - Body ground
  Always
  Below 1 Ω

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
