1. INSPECT CHARCOAL CANISTER ASSEMBLY


  1. Check the appearance.

    1. Check for cracks or damage to the portions indicated by the arrows.
      Replace the charcoal canister assembly when it is either damaged or cracks are found.



  1. Check the ventilation.

    1. Check that there is ventilation in ports A and C when 4.90 kPa (50 gf/cm2, 0.71 psi) of air is applied to port B.
      If there is no ventilation, replace the charcoal canister assembly.

    3. Plug ports A and C with your fingers.

    4. Using a vacuum pump, apply 1.96 kPa (14.7 mmHg, 0.578 in.Hg) of vacuum to port B, then check there are no air leaks in ports A and C.
      If there is air leaks, replace the charcoal canister assembly.

    6. Plug port B with your finger.

    7. Check that there is ventilation in port C when 4.90 kPa (50 gf/cm2, 0.71 psi) of air is applied to port A.
      If there is no ventilation, replace the charcoal canister assembly.
