| 1.READ DATA LIST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch ON.
Turn the intelligent tester main switch on.
Select the item below in the DATA LIST and read the display on the tester.

| 2.INSPECT ENGINE HOOD COURTESY SWITCH |

Remove the courtesy switch from the hood lock.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
| Tester Connection | Switch Position | Specified Condition |
| 1 - 2 | Pushed (OFF) | 10 kΩ higher |
| Free (ON) | Below 1 Ω |

Disconnect the B4 ECU and E3 switch connectors.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
| Symbol (Tester Connection) | Specified Condition |
| HCTY (B4-10) - (E3-2) | Below 1 Ω |
| (B4-10) or (E3-2) - Body ground | 10 kΩ higher |

Disconnect the E3 switch connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
