  1. Abnormal power source voltage is detected by oil pump driver
  2. Power source voltage input to oil pump driver is 6.96 V or less for 2 seconds or more with oil pump relay on

  4. HV control ECU

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
  1. When troubleshooting the oil pump w/ motor assembly, check for the following conditions:
    1. ATF temperature inside the oil cooler is 5°C (41 °F) or more.
    2. Value of the ambient temperature sensor is 5°C (41 °F) or more.

1.READ OUTPUT DTC (HV)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / DTC.

  1. Read output DTCs. (Click here)

    Result:
    DTC P0A08-264 is output.

2.RECONFIRM OUTPUT DTC (HV)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / DTC / Clear.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / DTC.

  1. Read output DTCs. (Click here)

    Result:
    DTC P0A08-264 is output again.

3.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - OIP PUMP - BODY GROUND)

  1. Disconnect the cable from the positive auxiliary battery terminal.

  1. Remove the oil pump relay from the engine room R/B No.4.

  1. Disconnect the O3 oil pump w/ motor assembly connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Specified Value

    Positive auxiliary battery terminal - Engine room R/B No.4 OIL PUMP relay terminal 5
    Below 2 Ω
    R1
    Engine room R/B No.4 OIL PUMP relay terminal 5 - +B (O3-4)
    Below 2 Ω
    R2
    GND (O3-1) - Body ground
    Below 2 Ω
    R3

    Standard Resistance:
    Combined resistance (R1, R2 and R3) of each part in the wire harness is below 6 Ω.

4.INSPECT HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control /Active Test / Inspection Mode.

  1. Put the vehicle into the READY on state.

  1. Check the waveform between the terminals of the HV control ECU.

    OK:
    Tester Connection
    Specified Condition
    OPST (H31-7) - E1 (H32-5)
    The waveform appears as shown in the illustration.
