Presence of a malfunctioning block is determined based on each battery block voltage (1 trip detection).
  1. HV battery assembly
  2. Battery smart unit

HINT:
P3011 and P3025 will not output unless the vehicle is driven for approximately 10 minutes after clearing the DTCs.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

If there is an abnormal internal resistance or electromotive voltage in the battery blocks, the battery smart unit determines that a malfunction has occurred. When the malfunction detection condition is satisfied, the HV control ECU illuminates the MIL and sets a DTC.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.READ OUTPUT DTC (DTC P0A1F IS OUTPUT)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / DTC.

  1. Read output DTCs. (Click here)

    Result:
    DTC P0A1F is output.

2.READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (BATT TEMP 1 TO 8 AND V1 TO V15 BATT BLOCK)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Batt Temp 1 to 8.

  1. Check "VMF Fan Voltage 3" in the Data List.

    Result:
The battery temperature differences should stay within approximately 5°C (41°F).

  1. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / V1 to V15 Batt Block.

  1. Check V1 to V15 Batt Block in the Data List.

    Result:
Difference in the battery blocks is 1.2 V or more.
