DTC    B0121/26    Seat Belt Buckle Switch RH Circuit Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The seat belt buckle switch RH circuit consists of the center airbag sensor assembly and the front seat inner belt assembly RH (seat belt buckle switch RH).
DTC B0121/26 is recorded when a malfunction is detected in the seat belt buckle switch RH circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK DTC


    C114789E01
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs stored in memory (Click here).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check the DTCs (Click here).

    OK:
    DTC B0121/26 is not output.

    HINT:
    Codes other than code B0121/26 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

Go to step 2

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

2.CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the center airbag sensor assembly and the front seat inner belt assembly RH.

    OK:
    The connectors are connected.

CONNECT CONNECTORS, THEN GO TO STEP 1

3.CHECK FLOOR WIRE (OPEN)

  1. Disconnect the connectors from the center airbag sensor assembly and the front seat inner belt assembly LH.

  1. Using a service wire, connect A25-14 (RBE+) and A25-3 (RBE-) of connector "B".

    HINT:
    Do not forcibly insert a service wire into the terminals of the connector when connecting.

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Voltage:
    Tester connection
    Condition
    Specified condition
    B9-1 (RBE+) -
    B9-3 (RBE-)
    Always
    Below 1 V

4.CHECK FLOOR WIRE (SHORT TO B+)

  1. Disconnect the service wire from connector "B".

  1. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Voltage:
    Tester connection
    Condition
    Specified condition
    B9-1 - Body ground
    Ignition switch ON
    Below 1 V
    B9-3 - Body ground
    Ignition switch ON
    Below 1 V

5.CHECK FLOOR WIRE (SHORT TO GROUND)

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Resistance:
    Tester connection

    B9-1 - Body ground
    Always
    1 MΩ or higher
    B9-3 - Body ground

6.CHECK FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH

  1. Connect the connectors to the front seat inner belt assembly RH and the center airbag sensor assembly.

  1. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs stored in memory (Click here).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check the DTCs (Click here).

    OK:
    DTC B0121/26 is not output.

    HINT:
    Codes other than code B0121/26 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK 

7.REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSY RH
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.

  1. Replace the front seat inner belt assembly RH (Click here).

    HINT:
    Perform the inspection using parts from a normal vehicle if possible.

8.CHECK CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery, and wait for at least 2 seconds.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Clear the DTCs stored in memory (Click here).

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, and wait for at least 60 seconds.

  1. Check the DTCs (Click here).

    OK:
    DTC B0126/27 is not output.

    HINT:
    Codes other than code B0126/27 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.
