DTC    P3000-388    HV Battery Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The HV control ECU alerts the driver and performs fail-safe control based on error signals received from the battery smart unit. This DTC is output when the SOC (state of charge) of the HV battery starts to drop as a result of leaving the shift lever in the N position, running out of fuel, or a malfunction in the HV control system.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.READ OUTPUT DTC (HV)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / DTC.

  1. Read output DTCs. (Click here)

    Result:
    DTCs other than P3000-388, P3000-389, and P0AF8 are output.

NO


2.CHECK AMOUNT OF GASOLINE
  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Check the amount of fuel with the fuel gauge in the meter.

    OK:
    Proper amount of fuel is in the tank.



NG
REFUEL GASOLINE
OK


3.CHECK ENGINE START
  1. Put the vehicle into the READY-on state. Check if the engine starts.

    OK:
    The engine starts.



NO
REPLACE HV BATTERY
YES

LEAVE VEHICLE IN P POSITION, AND CHARGE HV BATTERY IN IDLE STATUS UNTIL IDLING STOPS
