INSPECTION
Removal / installation
1. INSPECT BRAKE CYLINDER AND PISTON
Inspect the cylinder bore and the brake piston for rust or scoring.
2. INSPECT PAD LINING THICKNESS
Using a ruler, measure the pad lining thickness.

- Minimum thickness:
- 1.0 mm (0.039 in.)
- Standard thickness:
- 10.0 mm (0.394 in.)
3. INSPECT REAR DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE NO.1
Inspect the front disc brake pad support plate (No.1) and the front disc brake pad support plate (No.2).
- HINT:
- Make sure that they have sufficient rebound, and have no deformation, cracks or wear, and all rust and dirt are cleaned off.
4. INSPECT REAR DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE NO.2
- HINT:
- Inspect the rear disc brake pad support plate No.2 using the same procedure with the rear disc brake pad support plate No.1.
5. INSPECT DISC THICKNESS
Using a micrometer, measure the disc thickness.

- Minimum thickness:
- 8.5 mm (0.335 in.)
- Standard thickness:
- 10.0 mm (0.394 in.)
If the disc thickness is less than the minimum, replace the front disc.
