ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
Inspection
| REMOVE REAR WHEEL |
| SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 bolts and separate rear disc brake caliper assembly.

- NOTICE:
- Use a string or other device to keep the brake caliper from hanging down.

Put matchmarks on the rear disc and the axle hub.

Release the parking brake, and remove the rear disc.

- HINT:
- If the disc cannot be removed easily, turn and press firmly the shoe adjuster until the wheel comes free.
| INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS |
Using a dial indicator, check for looseness near the center of the axle hub.

- Maximum:
- 0.05 mm (0.0020 in.)
- NOTICE:
- Ensure that the dial indicator is set at right angles to the measurement surface.
| INSPECT REAR AXLE HUB RUNOUT |
Using a dial indicator, check for runout on surface of the axle hub outside the hub bolt.

- Maximum:
- 0.07 mm (0.0028 in.)
- NOTICE:
- Ensure that the dial indicator is set at right angles to the measurement surface.
| INSTALL REAR DISC |
Aligning the matchmarks, install the rear disc.

- HINT:
- When replacing the rear disc with a new one, select the installation position where the rear disc has the minimum runout.

Install the rear disc brake caliper assembly with the 2 bolts to the rear axle carrier.

- Torque:
- 78 N*m{ 795 kgf*cm , 58 ft.*lbf }

- Torque:
- 103 N*m{ 1,050 kgf*cm , 76 ft.*lbf }
