These procedures apply only to MX-3, 1990–92 626, MX-6, 1990–94
323 and Protege models. Other models are not equipped with cable controls.
Note that some 1990–92 626 and MX-6 models are not equipped with cable
controls.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the control panel assembly. Refer to the procedure in this Section.
- Remove the applicable housing brace and remove the cable.
To install:
- Insert the cable end into the hole of the control lever.
- Position the cable housing into its seat.
- Install the cable housing brace.
- Install the control panel assembly.
- Check the operation of the control cable.
