To Remove:
NOTE: If you suspect a leak in the heater core, it must be leak tested before it is removed from the vehicle.
- Remove the evaporator core housing and the instrument panel.
- Drain the radiator.
- Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core.
- Remove the nuts and the plenum chamber.
- Remove the screws and heater core cover.
- Remove the heater core.
To Install:
NOTE: In the installation procedure, install a new foam oval seal around the heater core outlet and inlet tubes.
NOTE: Use some Ford Rubber Suspension Insulator Lube (#E25Y-19553-A), or a suitable equivalent, to lubricate the hoses and fittings.
- Install the heater core.
- Install the heater core cover and screws.
- Correctly position the plenum chamber then install the nuts onto the engine side of the dash panel.
- Connect the heater hoses from the heater core.
- Properly refill the radiator.
- Install the instrument panel and the evaporator core housing
