To Remove:
- Remove the trim panel on the door.
- Remove the water shield.
- Support the window glass.
- If present, disconnect the electrical connector for the power window motor.
- Remove the center door glass run retainer nuts on the top and bottom then loosen the center door glass run retainer.
NOTE: Use a drift punch to remove the steel centers of the rivets and a ¼ in. (6.35 mm) diameter drill bit to remove the rivets. A vehicle with power windows has 4 rivets and one with manual windows has 3.
- Remove the window regulator rivets by first removing the centers, then the rivets.
- Remove the window regulator.
WARNING
Before removing the power window motor, make sure the regulator arms are in a fixed position to prevent counterbalance spring unwind. If you do not put the regulator arms in a fixed position, the spring may suddenly release, which may cause personal injury.
- If needed, remove the window glass motor.
To Install:

Before installing the power window motor, make sure the regulator arms are in a fixed position to prevent counterbalance spring unwind. If you do not put the regulator arms in a fixed position, the spring may suddenly release, which may cause personal injury.
- If needed, install the window glass motor and bolts. Torque to 53-79 in-lb (6-9 Nm).
- Install the window regulator.
- Install the window regulator rivets using a heavy duty riveter (501-D011) or its equivalent.
- Position the center door glass run retainer then install the nuts on the top and bottom. Torque to 71-89 in-lb (8-10 Nm).
- If present, connect the electrical connector for the power window motor.
- Install the water shield.
- Install the trim panel on the door.
