Clutch Slave Cylinder

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the hydraulic line at the slave cylinder using a tubing wrench. Plug the line to prevent leakage.
  3. On 2.0L 626 and MX6 engines only, remove the clutch bracket.
  4. Remove the slave cylinder mounting bolts and remove the slave cylinder.

    To install:

  5. Install the slave cylinder and tighten the mounting bolts to 12–16 ft. lbs. (16–22 Nm).
  6. Install the clutch bracket, if removed.
  7. Connect the hydraulic line and tighten the nut to 10–15 ft. lbs. (13–21 Nm).
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
  9. Bleed the air from the clutch hydraulic system and road test the vehicle.
