Starter Relay

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1. If equipped, disable the air bag system, as outlined in Section 6 of this manual.
2. Remove the retainers and the knee protector from the vehicle.

3. Remove the starter relay from the underside of the relay box.
4. To test the relay, perform the following:
   1. Connect battery voltage to terminal 2 and check continuity between the terminals with terminal 4 grounded.
   2. With power supplied to terminal 2 and terminal 4 is grounded — there is no continuity between terminal 1 and 3.
   3. When no power is supplied to terminal 2 — there is continuity between terminals 1 and 3 and also between terminals 2 and 4.
   4. If the test results differ from the results listed above, replace the starter relay.

      To install:

5. Install the starter relay in the underside of the relay box.
6. Position the knee protector, then install the retainers.
7. If equipped, enable the air bag system, as outlined in Section 6 of this manual.
