- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning
of this section.
- Support axle with a jack.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
- Wheel assembly
- Brake assembly
- Parking brake cable
- Brake hose connector
- Breather hose
- Spring support for load sensing proportioning valve
- Rear differential lock position harness connector
- Speed sensor
- Drive shaft, matchmark for reassembly
- Stabilizer bar
- Lower arm
- Lateral rod
- Lower shock absorber mounting bolt
- Axle assembly
To install:
- Install or connect the following:
- Axle assembly
- Lower shock absorber mounting bolt. Torque the bolts to 159–181
ft. lbs. (216–245 Nm).
- Lateral rod. Torque the bolts to 159–181 ft. lbs. (216–245
Nm).
- Lower arm
- Stabilizer bar mounting bolt. Torque the bolts to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).
- Drive shaft, align matchmark
- Speed sensor
- Rear differential lock position harness connector
- Spring support for load sensing proportioning valve
- Breather hose
- Brake hose connector
- Parking brake cable
- Brake assembly
- Wheel assembly

- Parking brake cable and mounting bolt
- Speed sensor and mounting bolt
- Brake hose
- Breather hose
- Rear differential lock position sensor
- Drive shaft, matchmark for reassembly
- Shock absorber
- U-bolt and seat
- Bump stopper
- Shackle assembly
- Axle assembly
To install:
- Install or connect the following:
- Axle assembly
- Shackle assembly
- Bump stopper
- U-bolt and seat
- Shock absorber. Torque the bolt to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
- Drive shaft, matchmark for reassembly
- Rear differential lock position sensor
- Breather hose
- Brake hose. Torque the tube to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
- Speed sensor and mounting bolt
- Parking brake cable and mounting bolt
- Brake assembly
- Stabilizer bar. Torque the mounting bolt to 26 ft lbs. (35 Nm).
- Wheel assembly
